A Guide for Parents
Dear Parents,
Welcome to another year of Toreros Athletics. For new parents we want to welcome you to the Toreros family as we look forward to another exciting season for all 17 of our athletic programs.
This past academic year we had some outstanding accomplishments:
**Women's Volleyball, WCC Co-Champions & NCAA Playoffs **Football, PFL Co-Champions **Women's Soccer, NCAA Playoffs **Men's Basketball, Conference Tournament Champions, NCAA Tournament **Women's Basketball, Conference Tournament Champions, NCAA Tournament **Golf, Conference Champions, NCAA Playoffs **Baseball, Conference Champions, NCAA Playoffs We have created a link on our website located in the Student Athletes drop-down menu for parents. On this site we have information on scholarships, ticket information, support services and other resources for student-athletes. You will also find a copy of the USD Student-Athlete Handbook, which every student-athlete receives during his or her initial days on campus. The USD athletic department has specific protocols in place to ensure that any questions or concerns from student-athletes are addressed. During orientation meetings, student-athletes are advised to see their head coach with any issues or concerns. If an issue cannot be resolved through the coach, student-athletes may meet with their sport supervisor. The athletic department will not entertain anonymous phone calls or parent phone calls unless the student-athlete has followed department protocol. This is done to ensure that every situation is dealt with in a uniform manner. We are looking forward to a great 2008-2009 academic year and continued success both in the classroom and in our athletic arenas. Sincerely, Mike Matoso Senior Associate Director of Athletics Student-Athlete Ticket Information Scholarship Information Helpful Links Commonly Asked Questions |
